Hi, my name is Chie. I have my own scene in the 39th fashion show Ebullition. My scene is Gaiety which is a happy emotion. Gaiety means the state or quality of being lighthearted or cheerful. I will express the innocent and radiant look of children in my scene. Children are always curious about the world around them. They also have big dreams, to be a princess, a professional athlete, and so on. My scene styles are mainly costumes expressing children’s dreams or what they want to do. I coordinated all my wonderful models.
Unfortunately, we can’t hold our fashion show this year due to COVID-19. We have worked hard and spent a lot of time for our fashion show since we became scene coordinators in the fall. Also, many people were willing to support my scene. Even after starting remote delivery of the class, we talked about the fashion show many times, what we are doing instead of the fashion show, and how we are showcasing our garments. We were trying to do live streaming instead, but we ultimately couldn’t because of the worsening situation in American. To be honest, I thought we couldn’t do our fashion show in any way anymore. I’ve known my models are looking forward to participating in our fashion show, so it was very unfortunate that I couldn’t do it. However, we found one way to showcase our fashion show. A lookbook! It’s too bad we can’t hold the fashion show, and I really wanted to show my scene face to face, because I will graduate this semester which means I can’t be a scene coordinator at GCC anymore.
But if I spin this in a positive way, I could experience and be involved in the first challenge of its kind in GCC fashion show history. I’m glad to make the look book and show it to everyone! Also, some of my wonderful models are willing to keep participating and cooperating. I really appreciated it. It was not an easy way to show our garments. There are a lot of stories told in each scene. This lookbook contains a lot of deep feelings of happiness, anger, sadness, and joy like our fashion show theme Ebullition, and we wouldn’t have made it without support. This lookbook is my graduation gift, and I think it’s pretty epic!
