Ebullition is defined by “the action of bubbling or boiling, a sudden outburst of emotion”. This is an uncommon word, one most would have to pick up a dictionary
To guide the viewer through these feelings, our show is divided through the Japanese word Ki Do Ai Raku, the characters meaning happiness, anger, sadness, and joy. Each of these benchmark emotions are broken down further into subcategories of each feeling, creating the scenes of our show. Everyone feels anger, but for some it can manifest into Rebellion, or perhaps appear in protesting Indignation. We’ve left that up to our Scene Coordinators to develop, as their scene not only showcases garments, but the way the coordinator emotes. In these unpredictable times, there is nothing more appropriate.
Ebullition was created by students who would only smile at each other politely in the hallways of GCC. However, the Ebullition we present to you now is created by a human bond that breaks both distance and language barriers. As you view our curation, we hope you not only follow our emotional journey, but reflect on your own as well. -Jessica Piper
